The Catholic Newman Center is the building across the Rec, and it’s open during 9am - 5pm during weekdays where it can become your home away from home!
You can pray, study, sleep, eat, or hang out. Many people choose to stay at the Newman before and in between classes. There are plenty of people to talk to and hang out with.
We have a full kitchen with a refrigerator and two microwaves. So you can cook or put your lunch in the fridge and heat it here!
You can study in the library, garden, and quiet pockets in the Newman. We have wifi and outlets.
If you’re tired of studying, we have a ping-pong table, board games, cards, a guitar, and a keyboard available. Also there are couches, blankets, and Squishmallows so there’s no shortage of comfort :)
Studies have shown that if college students don't have community support, over 80% of them end up losing their faith. At the UH Catholic Newman Center, we want to make that statistic obsolete.
We're building a community where students can find true friendships and also grow close to God.
