Bulletin date:
Tuesday, November 8, 2011 The Archdiocesan Pastoral Planning Process: What’s been said?
Results of a recent Archdiocesan survey show Catholics thirst for spirituality and knowledge of the basic tenets of the Catholic faith. More than 30 percent of the 4,700 respondents to the survey want more Bible studies, retreats and programs for spiritual growth. Go to www.archgh.org/pastoralplan/documents to view a report. Please pray for the next phases of the Pastoral Planning Process.
Number of priests stays stable as Catholic population grows
A Priest Projection Study completed by the Center for Applied Research in the Apostolate showed that the number of priests available for parish service in the Archdiocese will remain relatively stable over the next 10 years. The challenge: the Catholic population will grow significantly over the same 10 years. See graphs and charts explaining these Archdiocesan changes at www.archgh.org/pastoralplan/documents Please pray for the next phases of the Pastoral Planning Process.
Catholic beliefs and traditions: Important to pass along
During the first phase of the Archdiocese Pastoral Planning Process, over 7,000 participants in both parish listening sessions and surveys responded that “Catholic Beliefs and Traditions” were important to pass on to the next generation. Go to www.archgh.org/pastoralplan/documents to view a report and read more examples of what was said. Please pray for the next phases of the Pastoral Planning Process.
The Archdiocese is diverse
Did you know that two-thirds of the Archdiocesan Catholic population is Hispanic? Mass is celebrated in 15 languages in the Archdiocese each week. The next two phases of the Archdiocesan Pastoral Planning Process will consider the needs of a very diverse population. Go to www.archgh.org/pastoralplan/documents to view a report on the Archdiocese’s demographics. Please pray for the next phases of the Pastoral Planning Process.
Programs for children and youth seen as priority
