The Solemnity of the All Saints will be on Tuesday, November 1st. The Community Mass for this day will be celebrated at the A. D. Bruce Religion Center at 12 Noon in the Main Chapel. 

 

Daylight Saving Time Ends on Saturday, November 5th at 2:00 AM.  Please set your clocks back one hour before you go to bed.

 

No time to get away? Work weekends? Busy with school? Still want to grow in your relationship with God? Come to the Busy Persons’ Retreat at the UH Catholic Newman Center starting with an Introduction Session on Sunday, November 13th at 5:00 PM following with the 6:00 PM Mass continuing through Thursday, November 17th ending with a closing session at 5:30 PM.  For more information contact Giovan Cuchapin at fcuchapin [at] uh [dot] edu or (713) 748 – 2529.

 

Come to Life in the Spirit Evening of Prayer and Adoration to learn more about the charisms of the Holy Spirit in our life. Experience another way to further your relationship with Christ. We will start promptly at 7:00 PM at the UH Catholic Newman Center on Thursday, November 17th.

The R.C.I.A. will be celebrating the Rite of Acceptance for our candidates on Sunday, November 20th at the 10:45 AM Mass at the A. D. Bruce Religion Center. This celebration is to accept the participants into the order of catechumens. Please pray for our R.C.I.A. program and participants.    

All students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends of the UH Catholic Newman Center are invited to this year’s Annual Thanksgiving Potluck Dinner which will be held on Monday, November 21st at 6:30 PM at the UH Catholic Newman Center.  Please sign up to bring one of the following: Main Dish, Cultural Dish, Dessert and Vegetable.  You may also sign up to help (this is especially good for students who can’t bring a dish) set up or clean up.  To let us know what you’ll be preparing there is a sign up board at the UH Catholic Newman Center or call us at (713) 748 - 2529.  Happy Thanksgiving!

 

The UH Catholic Newman Center will open from 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM on Tuesday, November 22nd. All evening activities are cancelled.

 

The UH Catholic Newman Center will be closed to all employees and students on Wednesday, November 23rd thru Friday, November 25th, while staff is away for the Thanksgiving Holiday. The UH Catholic Newman Center will re-open Sunday, November 27th for the 10:45 AM Mass and the 6:00 PM Mass at the UH Catholic Newman Center. We will not have R.C.I.A. Class at 1:30 PM at the UH Catholic Newman Center. 

 

9. UH FINALS STUDY NIGHTS
The UH Catholic Newman Center will be open on Monday, November 28th through Wednesday, December 14th from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM. This will allow students to study for finals at the Newman Center in an intellectual environment.
