1. R.C.I.A. RITE OF ELECTION
The UH Catholic Community Congratulates the R.C.I.A. Class. Sonu Singh will be presented as a Catechumen. She will receive the sacraments of initiation (Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist) at the Easter Vigil. Darrell Anderson will be received into Full Communion of the Catholic Church at the Easter Vigil and Gavin Akunna, Alfred Martinez and Adriana Ceballoswill receive the sacrament of Confirmation. All of these Catechumens and Candidates will go to the Co-Cathedral of the Sacred Heart in Downtown Houston on Sunday, February 21st at 3:00 PM to participate in the Rite of Election. Please keep them in your prayers during this Lenten Season.
On Monday, February 22nd Fr. Dan will be moving to Pittsburgh, PA to become Pastor of St. Stephen’s Catholic Church in the Hazelwood neighborhood and Formation Director for the pre-novitiate program. The Spiritan formation program here in Houston will be moved to Pittsburgh in the Fall and the seminarians will attend Duquesne University founded by the Spiritans in 1878. We will dearly miss Fr. Dan at the UH Catholic Newman Center. The Catholic Community is saddened to see him go, but we are happy that he was assigned to his home town. There he will get to spend time with his family, especially his Dad, Sister, Niece and Nephew. God keep him safe on his road trip to Pittsburgh. Go Steelers and Pirates… Sincerely, the UH Catholic Newman Center. Vaya con Dios!
