1. NEWMAN NIGHT TALENT SHOW
Got a talent that you would like to share?  Come showcase it at Newman Night on Thursday, October 1st at 7:00 PM at the UH Catholic Newman Center; sponsored by the Catholic Student Organization.  Sign up to let us know you’ll be in the show and what you will be performing by Tuesday, September 29th. 2. BUSY PERSONS’ RETREAT
No time to get away?  Work weekends?  Busy with school?  Still want to grow in your relationship with God?  Come to the Busy Persons’ Retreat at the UH Catholic Newman Center starting with an Introduction Session on Sunday, October 18th at the 6:00 PM Mass continuing through Thursday, October 22nd ending with a closing session at 5:30 PM.  For more information contact Giovan Cuchapin at fcuchapin [at] uh [dot] edu or (713) 748 – 2529.
 
3. UH CATHOLIC NEWMAN CENTER PARKING POLICY
At the end of last academic year and during the summer the Catholic Student Organization leadership and staff reflected on some of the things that needed improvement and one major issue was the parking situation at the Catholic Newman Center.  With more students coming to the Newman Center parking is at a premium.  Needless to say, when we have 55 students attending daily Mass the parking lot is overflowing.  This year we implemented a policy to deal with the parking situation.  Any student who wishes to park at the Catholic Newman Center must have a validly issued UH Parking Sticker and a UH CNC issued parking tag and one may only park in the Catholic Newman Center lot while they are physically present in the building.  This means that when you go to class you need to move your car.  The Catholic Student Organization officers have taken on the responsibility to monitor what is happening but it is up to those who park in the Catholic Newman Center lot to follow the parking policy.  We reserve the right to tow any car that is in violation of our parking policy.  Thank you for your anticipated cooperation.
 
4. OCTOBER SCHEDULE FOR LECTORS AND EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS
Here is the schedule for Lector & Extra Ordinary Minister of the Eucharistic for the month of October 2009 for our 10:45 AM Sunday Mass at the A D Bruce Religion Center in the Main Chapel and our 6:00 PM Sunday Mass at the UH Catholic Newman Center.  Please e-mail Fr. Dan Walsh, C.S.Sp. at dwalshcssp [at] yahoo [dot] com or Giovan Cuchapin at fcuchapin [at] uh [dot] edu  if you cannot make it to your assigned schedule a week in advance so we have enough time to find a replacement.  PLEASE SEE ATTACHED FILE OCTOBER SCHEDULE FOR LECTOR & EXTRA ORDINARY MINISTER OF THE EUCHARISTIC.
